Over the course of the show’s history, winners have included the likes of Diversity, Lee Ridley and George Sampson, with a brand new winner set to join them this year.
So, when does the show air? And who are this year’s golden buzzer acts? Read on for everything you need to know about Britain’s Got Talent 2024.
Britain’s Got Talent returned to screens on Saturday 20th April. It marks the show’s 17th season.
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli have all put their judging hats on once again for the latest season of Britain’s Got Talent.
Tonioli joined the judging panel in 2023 after making the decision to leave Strictly Come Dancing after 18 years the year prior.
Speaking to Radio Times Magazine about joining the series, Tonioli said: “I had a ball, partly because I had never seen it before. It’s true! Simon has teased me to death about it.
“I didn’t even watch Strictly – I don’t watch shows that have a judging panel because I don’t want to be influenced by another judge. I just want to do my own thing. But I had the best time.
“It’s a proper variety show and the range of talent is incredible.”
Presenting duo Ant and Dec will host Britain’s Got Talent for another year, with the pair regularly sharing updates of their time filming the series on their Instagram page.
We have our first golden buzzer acts of the season, one of which is Sydnie Christmas, who blew the judges and audience away with her rendition of Tomorrow from Annie.
“That was the best version I have ever heard in my life, so that’s why I’m gonna do this!” said Amanda, giving Sydnie an automatic place in the semi-final.
There’s also Ssaulabi Taekwondo Troupe, a South Korean Taekwondo troupe who have been backed by Ant and Dec. Could they be the first Taekwondo troupe to win Britain’s Got Talent?
Elsewhere, Taryn Charles, CyberAgent Legit and Ravi’s Dream Team were all awarded a golden buzzer and have sailed through to the live semi-finals.
Viggo Venn won the competition in 2023, beating Lillianna Clifton and Cillian O’Connor in the final.
Britain’s Got Talent is airing now on ITV1 and ITVX.
