NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Concerns are growing after recent thefts at the new Tanger Outlets shopping center in Antioch.
Since the outlet opened last month, police were called to Tanger around 70 times, which prompted the department to increase patrols.
Thousands of dollars worth of Michael Kors jackets and purses were stolen from the store in Tanger Outlets last week. A video circulating on the internet shows thieves running out of the store with stolen goods. Tanger Outlets put up a $5,000 reward to track down those responsible.

Daniel Wich lives in Antioch and is not surprised by the crime.
“My friend showed it to me on Instagram and everyone was just kind of like, ‘Oh, of course, like it already happened here,’” Daniel Wich said.
All of this ahead of Black Friday shopping.
“It was so soon, like after it opened. But I know the Old Hickory Mall was over here, kind of closed for similar reasons a few years back. So, I think a lot of people were expecting it,” Wich said.
It’s a disappointment for locals like Taylor Montgomery, who wants to see things turn around in Antioch.
“It’s so unfortunate. Like they say, we want more things in Nashville. We want to bring more things to Antioch. But when we bring things, you can’t have nice things because people just take away from it,” Montgomery said.
Montgomery says this will not keep her from shopping this Black Friday, but she’s taking precautions.

“I’m one of those people who is like, ‘Oh, I’ll be all right.’ Definitely make sure the doors are locked. Pay attention to my surroundings more,” she added.
Metro Police say officers are working closely with security at the outlet mall and all shopping centers through the holiday season.
Tanger Outlets say they are also increasing security this holiday season.
