Pluto Retrograde will help you make sense of this crazy world – your tarotscope

Pluto’s drama-filled influence is going on hiatus, giving us all a break (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Pluto is a powerful outer planet (a long way away and with very slow orbits) which, being linked to Scorpio, represents life and death, rebirth, collapse and renewal.

Pluto impacts our world in a dramatic way, via things like climate change, societal unrest, governmental and power shifts.

The world, as we know it, has changed so, so much even since Covid, and much of it feels like a collapse, a destruction, an erosion at rapid pace. It’s hard to handle, right?

Well, from May 2 until October 11, Pluto goes into retrograde, which slows down, if not blocks, its influence. This breather gives us pause to catch up emotionally with world events, adjust to the ‘new normals’, and maybe figure out what’s important to us, what our changed worldview is, and how we can be good citizens in a mad, bad world.

Let the tarot guide you towards how it will play out for your star sign.

Aries

March 21 to April 20

Get in tune to your emotions here (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aries for Pluto Retrograde: Five of Wands

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Five of Wands, for you to notice where you feel most stressed, pressured, backed-into-a-corner, or defensive in your own realm. You too are going through changes and the first sign of that is often a negative emotion, mood or atmosphere.

Don’t let that linger, notice it, and see it as a signal. Use the retrograde’s hiatus to make adjustments in these areas, correcting the flaws or stagnant energies. Refresh, revive, renew… and onwards.

Taurus

April 21 to May 21

Say yes to newness, Taurus (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Taurus for Pluto Retrograde: Two of Coins

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Two of Coins, for you to pour so much clean, fresh water into your ‘life cup’ (so to speak) that all of the dirty, stagnant and gritty water gets flushed away. Does that make sense?

Sometimes the way to cleanse is to just rinse, and rinse, and rinse, until it all runs clear. Rinsing happens by adding more and more new energy, people, activity, ideas, and options into your realm. Be abundant, seek variety, flush out the old.

Gemini

May 22 to June 21

There’s nothing wrong with feeling your feelings (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Gemini for Pluto Retrograde: Five of Coins

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Five of Coins, for you to mourn. Your energy aligns deeply with cosmic movements as you’re mercurial, perceptive, and open-minded.

You have lost and destroyed a lot of ‘stuff’ in your life this last year or so… and you can now sit back and review the outcomes, reflect on the movements, extract the life lessons, and, yes, grieve a little. Not too much! But let the feelings flow, let them be released, let yourself acknowledge where you felt pain. This is just processing, not dwelling.

Cancer

June 22 to July 23

Do things differently (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Cancer for Pluto Retrograde: The Fool

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with The Fool, for you to think about what new leaf you wish to turn over. Something radical, major, surprising, and unexpected (so it’s likely you don’t yet know what it is, don’t worry). You have until October to ponder. Let your ideas flow freely and think big, think out the box, think global.

The Fool is a new beginning which changes everything and is totally your own design and desire. No one else can tell you what to do here. This is for you alone. Make sense of where you’re at… and set a vision for where you want to go next.

Leo

July 24 to August 23

You’re ready to transform into a new you (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Leo for Pluto Retrograde: Death

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Death card, for you to embrace Pluto’s energy 100% (as Death = Scorpio = Pluto) and let old versions, energies, and identities die away. You are the literal phoenix, burning yourself up, ready to emerge with a new plume and vibrancy from the ashes come October.

This is a makeover, a transformation, a revival, a letting go and releasing of al that has been and has no further purpose. See this phase as a decluttering period. And start to imagine what the ‘new you’ looks, feels, and acts like.

August 24 to September 23

Appreciate your blessings (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Virgo for Pluto Retrograde: Four of Cups

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Four of Cups, for you to appreciate your advantages, privileges, and gifts. You are so lucky compared to other souls on this Earth. This is not a preachy or lecturing message, but rather a free gift.

You’re already wealthy in so many ways, Virgo, and you can just notice that and feel an immediate boost, an instant surge of good fortune. Simply by acknowledging where you’re lucky, you will know where to focus and what to build in future.

Be the change you want to see (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Libra for Pluto Retrograde: The Hierophant

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with The Hierophant, for you to discover and decide what, locally or globally, you are most moved/disturbed/activated by right now and seek ways to join forces with others who feel the same to make a difference!

Activism. Sometimes you have to stand and fight for something, and you’re a strong advocate- analytical, objective, and smart. You want to contribute, you want to help, you want to feel you have some power to wield. Go find ways and means.

Scorpio

October 24 to November 22

It’s time to assess where you want to be (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Scorpio for Pluto Retrograde: King of Wands

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the King of Wands, for you to contemplate your life purpose, right now, with all that has changed in the world, and what you can predict in the future.

Things are different to when you started out. And that’s not necessarily bad, because many changes (even if negative) can lead to and open up new opportunities. You are fearless, worldly, and well placed to benefit from chaos. You can restore order and strength. What do you want to do? It’s time to figure it out.

Sagittarius

November 23 to December 21

Why wait? (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Sagittarius for Pluto Retrograde: The Chariot

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with The Chariot, for you to travel, experience or mentally explore more of this big, bad world. You are a natural explorer and traveller anyway and love nothing more than the open road, a blank space, a future journey.

What are you waiting for? The world isn’t going to get any more stable or safe, so why not make your grand adventures happen now? The Chariot is all about movement with purpose. Set some travel goals, make them happen.

You can’t pour from an empty cup (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Capricorn for Pluto Retrograde: Queen of Cups

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Queen of Cups, for you to reassess how you do self care and take good care of your emotional wellbeing. Life is stressful, chaotic, and pressured. That won’t change and if you don’t figure out how to handle it, you could burn out.

You work so hard. Why not put the same effort into taking good care of your precious asset and engine (you!) so you can carry on grafting and reaping those rewards? Review sleep, exercise, stimulus, social life, diet, hydration, supplements, relaxation, creative pursuits, leisure time, and relationships. Maximise and optimise. This is a project!

Aquarius

January 22 to February 19

Don’t carry the weight of the world alone, Aquarius (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aquarius for Pluto Retrograde: Nine of Swords

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Nine of Swords, for you to ignite an outpouring of everything you’ve kept bottled up this last nine months or longer. This is important, Aquarius, don’t brush it aside.

There ate two reasons why it matters. Firstly, you’re the zodiac’s global citizen and humanitarian. The plight of the human race and our planet’s future resonate deeply with you, so you need to express how you feel about stuff. Secondly, you are the zodiac’s truth-seeker and purist. You see it as it is. And it can get bleak, right? Let it all out. Process your emotional reactions. Cleanse and purge.

Tarot card for Pisces for Pluto Retrograde: Two of Swords

Meaning: The Pluto retrograde is an opportunity, with the Two of Swords, for you to make some big, important, game-changing decisions… that perhaps you have put off for a while.

You will never be totally ready for a major change. You will never feel things are stable or safe or totally predictable, because life is always crazy. You will never have a guarantee on what you’re proposing to do. So, why wait any longer? Just do it. Make these big choices and act, you will feel liberated and empowered.
