‘Huge worry’ for William and Kate as Harry and Meghan grow closer to other royals

William and Kate are uneasy that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are growing closer to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, a royal expert has claimed.

Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “For William and Kate an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.”

“They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family,” he said.

“The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself – is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer.” The Princess of Wales is receiving treatment for her cancer diagnosis following her public announcement in March.

William was joined by Prince George as he attended the Emirates FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Manchester United on Saturday.

Both royals shook hands with the teams as they collected their runners-up and winners’ medals respectively. William presented Manchester United with the FA Cup in his capacity as president of the Football Association.

Royal author Tom Quinn was quoted as saying by The Mirror: “For William and Kate an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.”

He said: “Although Harry and Meghan have little sympathy for Prince Andrew, they’ve kept in regular contact with Beatrice and Eugenie who have always been free of any associations with Meghan’s angry, bitter time in the UK.”

King receives first Sycamore Gap tree seedling nearly eight months after felling

The King has been presented with the first seedling grown from seeds collected from the Sycamore Gap tree, nearly eight months after the historic tree was felled in an act of vandalism.

The much-photographed tree, which stood next to Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland for 200 years, was chopped down in September last year, causing a national outrage.

Once the seedling has matured into a sapling, Charles will have it planted in Windsor Great Park for visitors to enjoy as a symbol of the hope and beauty that can come from loss, the National Trust said on Monday.

In a social media post, Buckingham Palace said: “Part of the power of trees to move and console us lies in the continuity and hope they represent: the sense that, rooted in the past and flourishing in the present, their seeds will be carried into an as yet unimaginable future.”

Biden administration ask US court to keep Prince Harry visa documents private

The Biden administration has asked a US court to keep Prince Harry’s visa application private amid concerns over his prior drug use.

The Telegraph reported that US lawyers for the Department of Homeland Security pleaded with the courts in February over requests from the conservative Heritage Foundation for the details of Harry’s application to be made public.

The dispute was sparked after the prince admitted in his memoir, Spare, that he had taken cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms previously.

“Many of these records, your honour, are law enforcement records,” the department’s lawyer said. “So there is a stigma associated with being mentioned in a law enforcement record.”

He added that publishing the files would expose “confidential law enforcement tools”.

He continued: “The government has cited multiple cases in its brief about the private nature of immigration records and about the fact that people who are public figures still maintain their privacy interests.”
